I noticed today that i have so much garbage in my userdata/addon_data folder from older addons, that have left their settings/config/db files there in that folder after i uninstalled them.
Is there an automatic way i can delete unused addon folders ? I also have a raspberry pi struggling with the HD space issues..and i wanna know if thats possible.

Not automatically no, but there's nothing to stop you going in and doing it manually. Either by remote connection, direct access (for a suitable device) or via Kodi's inbuilt file manager.

The simplest and fastest way IMO: do a video/music library export, and start a fresh install.

Thats what i thought :/
What if..i backup all the 'addon_data' folder and then delete everything inside. Then i get in all my addons from the GUI, so that the new settings are created and just overwrite all the folders that i see there with the old ones ?
I am asking before i try this and mess up everything

Backups are always useful.
Me, I prefer a spring-cleaning, but if you want to delete stuff manually, it's possible. It's up to you.

hehehe spring cleaning. I do that on my PC, but with the Pi..its a hideous process to setup everything again.

I can't really recommend just blowing away the entire addon_data. At least for me having to setup every addon again from scratch would take much more effort than selectively pruning addon_data. KCleaner is probably a more elegant approach.

I mean temporarily to delete the addon data. When you get inside an addon it will recreate all the folder/files in the addon_data. So theoretically, you backup your stuff, delete all addon_data, re-run all your addons, and then just replace these folders with the ones from your backup..thus deleting all the rest (garbage).

Why not just delete any directory in addon_data that doesn't exist in addons?
